Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Business Travel Assistant ("the app," "we," "us") collects, how it's used, and your choices. The app is provided by Max Brown. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
We collect only what the app needs to work:
- Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple account identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email. You may also enter a name, email, and home city in Settings.
- Content you create. Trips, packing lists, your digital wardrobe (including photos you add), expenses and receipt images, habits, and notes.
- Location. With your permission, we use your device location to show places to eat near you and to detect the airport you're in. Location is used only while you use the app and is not used to track you.
- Community content. Restaurants, airport dining spots, lounges, and ratings you choose to submit are shared with other users of the app.
- Subscription status. Whether you have an active subscription or trial (managed by Apple; we do not receive your payment card details).
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How your information is stored and used
- Private data (your trips, wardrobe, expenses, receipts, habits, and settings) is stored in your private Apple iCloud account via Apple CloudKit and cached on your device so the app works offline. We use it only to provide the app's features to you.
- Community submissions (places, lounges, airport spots, and ratings) are stored in a shared database so other users can see them. Please don't submit anything you consider private.
- Reports you generate (PDF expense, per-diem, and billable reports) are created on your device.
- Receipts are kept for about 18 months and then automatically deleted; the expense record (amount and date) may remain for your yearly totals.
Third-party services
The app sends limited, non-identifying requests to these services to provide features: Apple (Sign in with Apple, iCloud/CloudKit, WeatherKit, Apple Maps, push notifications), Open-Meteo (weather fallback ‚ coordinates only), Ticketmaster and SeatGeek (local events ‚ city and dates), and Yelp (restaurant ratings and price ‚ place name and location). These providers process requests under their own privacy policies. We share only what's needed to fulfill your request, and we never sell your information.
Your choices and rights
- Permissions. Grant or revoke calendar, location, camera, photo, and notification access anytime in iOS Settings.
- Delete your account. In the app, go to Settings ‚Delete Account. This removes your profile from our systems and signs you out; locally cached data on the device is cleared. Content you submitted to the community may remain but is no longer linked to your account.
- Access and questions. Email us and we'll help.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
We rely on Apple's platform protections (Sign in with Apple, iCloud, and on-device storage). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
